Are you passionate about working with older people with mental health concerns?

We are offering an exciting band 5 development post which offers you the support from senior occupational therapists to develop the specialist skills required to become a band 6 within the team

The Gedling and Hucknall Intensive Home Treatment Team offers assessment & treatment for people over the age of 65 with mental health needs & for people of any age with a dementia diagnosis in their own home

The team covers a 7 day service with a shift pattern of 8-4pm & 12 - 8pm

Main duties of the job

The post-holder will work in a multidisciplinary team to provide assessment and interventions which promotes recovery enabling patients to remain at home and supporting their positive mental and physical wellbeing working alongside a specialist occupational therapist.

Some of the duties of this job include:

  • To provide an occupational therapy service for older people with complex mental health needs who are referred to the service.
  • To carry out occupational therapy assessment, goal setting, implementation of treatment programmes and evaluation.
  • To establish the needs of individuals referred to the service and plan care with colleagues from health, social services, families, and the voluntary sector.
