Job summary
This is a new post due to positive increased investment into the service leading to exciting team expansion. This post is a band 7/8a and would be a great preceptor post with opportunity for professional development.
You will need a sound knowledge and experience of the needs of YP and their families who present with a significant eating disorder, how to apply psychological practice in their treatment.We use FT-AN and it would be helpful for you to have knowledge of this intervention.
If you feel this post is for you but you do not yet have the required level of experience we would be keen to receive your application with a view of creating a preceptorship post. The preceptor would come enter as a band 7, be supported by a senior psychologist to complete a competency framework, required training and after a period of time, when the necessary skills and experience have been acquired, would be upgraded to an 8a Clinical Psychology position.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will offer specialist assessment and treatment for young people who present with a significant eating disorder. They will provide liaison, consultation and support to other agencies and work closely with our partners in paediatrics and inpatient CAMHS. The post holder will be supported to take on a leadership role to ensure service development and provide leadership cover when required to support the service lead. They will offer support and supervision to more junior colleagues, students, and trainees, in return the post holder will receive supervision from colleagues within the Trust.
There will be opportunities to be part of research and audit processes and to develop leadership skills, whilst working alongside a well developed and skilled MDT.
You will contribute to team discussions and bring expertise to support the team processes, reflections and formulation.
