Job summary
We are seeking to appoint a qualified Clinical or Forensic Psychologist, or a suitable candidate with the relevant experience who is engaged in a recognised training route, to join an enthusiastic and cohesive team of Qualified and Assistant psychologists.
The post is for a fixed term until the 30th of April 2023 to cover maternity leave and is based in Rampton Hospital within the National High Secure Healthcare Service for Women. It consequently offers the opportunity to develop skills and competencies in working with mentally disordered women detained in high secure care.
This vacancy is also open to Trainee Psychologists on a HCPC accredited training route who are able to act up into a Band 6 role, under supervision, and can demonstrate they are within 12 months of qualification.
Main duties of the job
You will work with a specialist multidisciplinary team that values psychological approaches. You will be supported by experienced Consultant Forensic Psychologist and/or Consultant Clinical Psychologist and may be required to provide clinical supervision and support to junior psychology and other staff. As part of the role, you will hold a clinical caseload (under supervision if needed) and be expected to conduct psychological assessments, formulations, and interventions. You may also contribute to the development, delivery, and evaluation of specialist treatment programmes, tailored to the complex mental health and offending behaviour needs of this population. You will be encouraged to conduct or contribute to service-relevant evaluation / research and promote services as a centre of excellence.
