Job summary
Due to internal restructuring we are pleased to expand our team of Speech and Language Therapists working within the Forensic Division of Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust at Rampton Hospital.
Rampton Hospital is one of three national high- secure mental healthcare facilities. The hospital provides treatment for mental health and personality disorders, and is proud to provide the National High Secure services for Women, Learning Disabilities and Deaf services.
The Speech and Language Therapy team work across the hospital, as part of the Therapies and Education Department and integrated into the care pathways. We work with patients with Dysphagia or Speech, Language and Communication Needs, providing assessment and management, working towards shared therapeutic goals collaboratively with the patient and their multidisciplinary team.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work under the supervision of Clinical Lead Speech and Language Therapistsand will be responsible for their own specialist caseload. This may include patients with mental health conditions, personality disorder, learning disability and Speech, Language and Communication Needs or Dysphagia.
The post holder will be responsible for supervising and/or mentoring newly qualified staff, students and assistants as appropriate. They will participate in multi- disciplinary projects and specialist areas of Speech and Language Therapy work as agreed with the directorate and with the support of clinical lead SLTs and service manager.
