Job summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic and professional Business Administrator to join our team. You will have the ability to work and prioritise your tasks independently and as part of the wider administration, finance, and mental health research teams. You will have the skills, knowledge, and work experience to meet the requirements of this role and be able to communicate effectively with colleagues and members of the public at all levels.

This is permanent role based at the Institute of Mental Health on the University of Nottinghams Jubilee Campus. The administration team offer comprehensive confidential administrative support to the mental health research teams housed within the Institutes modern environmentally friendly building and to other areas of Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust and the University of Nottingham.

Main duties of the job

You will be responsible for the provision of an efficient administrative service to the Management Accountant, Business & Operations Manager, Research Grants & Contracts Officer, and other senior colleagues.

They will work closely with fellow administrators in the Research Support and the Reception & Administration teams, combining to help ensure the smooth running of the Institutes individual departments and building. Main duties of the role will include:

  • Data inputting & reconciliation, working closely with the Management Accountant
  • Research budget profile updating
  • Liaising with academic colleagues to collate and maintain various financial requirements
  • Invoice & expense claims processing
  • Procurement
  • Administration of research study meetings, including meeting arrangement and set-up, attendee liaison, and attendance at meetings to accurately take, write-up, and distribute minutes
  • Reception & building administration
