Community Psychiatric Nurse: County Dementia Outreach Service
Mental Health Services for Older People Bassetlaw Integrated Community Mental Health Services is an established service offering assessment and treatment for older people with mental health difficulties and for people of any age with organic diagnosis within the Bassetlaw locality. The County Dementia Outreach Service aims to improve the quality of care for individuals with dementia living in dementia registered residential and nursing care homes in the Bassetlaw locality.
We are looking for a committed and experienced Band 6 Community Psychiatric Nurse to help deliver the service inNewark and Sherwoodas part of the locality community mental health team for older people.
Main duties of the job
You will be based within the Multi-Disciplinary Community Mental Health Team whilst also being a part of the wider outreach service which is managed by a clinical specialist. A key aspect of the Community Psychiatric Nurse role will be advising and supporting care home staff to improve their skills and confidence to manage behaviours and promote person centred care planning. Specialist knowledge of the nursing issues associated with dementia in a residential setting and a high level of communication skills are crucial.
