Rowan Ward is a 15bed mixed gender acute mental health ward based at the Summerlands Site in Yeovil and includes a Health Based Place of Safety. The ward is AIMS accredited and has recently successfully undergone reaccreditation. We are also in the process of developing an additional purpose built acute ward on site, making this an exciting time to join the service.
As a Band 5 Staff Nurse, you will be a key member of a multi disciplinary team delivering high quality, compassionate care to adults experiencing acute mental health difficulties. You will work collaboratively and innovatively, applying the principles of engagement, recovery, and positive and proactive care to improve patient experience and outcomes.

Main duties of the job
- Assess, plan, implement and evaluate individualised care for service users experiencing acute mental health difficulties.
- Promote equality, diversity and inclusion in accordance with legislation, best practice and Trust values.
- Deliver compassionate, recoveryfocused care using therapeutic engagement and evidencebased interventions.
- Monitor and respond to changes in mental and physical health, escalating concerns appropriately.
- Administer medication safely and in line with Trust policy, professional standards and legal frameworks.
- Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team, service users, families and carers to support recovery.
- Maintain accurate, timely and comprehensive clinical records.
- Support and supervise healthcare support workers, students and junior colleagues as required.
