Job summary
The Deputy Service Group Director for the Medicine Service will support the Director in their role on the delivery of the Trusts operational and clinical service delivery objectives, teams, clinical groups and across the Somerset system.
The post holder will support and act as the deputy for the Director at Trust Board, Executive Team and other senior levels as well as for the areas of responsibility specifically encompassed in this role portfolio.
Main duties of the job
Main Responsibilities.
To work in collaboration with and provide support to the Clinical Leads to drive change and modernisation ensuring the achievement of National, Trust and Group performance indicators and objectives.
- To co-ordinate patient quality, safety and clinical effectiveness governance as well as risk management supported by the Associate Director for Patient Care.
- To be responsible for the operational day to day running of the Group, working in collaboration with the Associate Medical Director (AMD), Group Director and Associate Director for Patient Care.
- Responsible for coordinating the Group Strategic Business Plan, identifying business opportunities and supporting Service Managers with business planning and change management initiatives.
- To provide strong, clear leadership and operational management in the business aspects of the Group to achieve a fully integrated approach to delivering high quality, adaptable, patient led services.
- To lead the monitoring/improvements of operational performance targets within the Group.
- To analyse data and soft intelligence, form judgments around service performance and implement appropriate action.
- To build effective working relationships with key partners including the public, primary care providers and clinical commissioning groups to maximise the opportunity for partnership working and effective seamless service delivery across the Group, ensuring clinical teams are involved in all decisions around their services.
