Support Time and Recovery Worker

Job summary

We are looking for a motivated and compassionate individual to join our Community Mental Health Service as a Support Time and Recovery (STR) Worker. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in people's lives by supporting individuals with mental health difficulties in their recovery journey.

The role involves working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, adopting a recovery-focused, strengths-based approach to help people achieve their goals. You will work with individuals in the community and provide in-reach to in-patient settings, supporting people to return home and live as independently as possible.

A full driving licence with access to a vehicle (business insurance required) and the flexibility to work across a 24/7 shift pattern, including evenings and weekends, are essential for this role.

Main duties of the job

  • Deliver evidence-based interventions under supervision, such as graded exposure, behavioural activation, and emotional regulation skills.

  • Provide consistent and practical support to patients in line with their agreed care plans.

  • Promote recovery, independence, and wellbeing by supporting individuals with daily living skills, health promotion, and social inclusion.

  • Work closely with carers, families, and partner organisations to ensure holistic and person-centred care.

  • Identify early signs of relapse and alert appropriate professionals.

  • Maintain clear and accurate records in line with Trust policies.

  • Support patients to access community resources, including housing, benefits, education, and voluntary sector services.

      • NVQ Health and Social Care or equivalent, or willing to undertake full training to achieve this standard

      Experience

      • Experience of working with people e.g in a caring situation, dealing with the general public.
      • Experience of working in community settings.
      • Experience of the assessment process and positive risk management.

      Desirable

      • Previous experience in caring for people with a severe mental illness.

      Additional Criteria

      Essential

      • Must be a car driver with a valid driving licence or have access to transport with appropriate business insurance in order to travel throughout the Trust, to meet the needs of the service.
      • Able to work across a 24/7 shift pattern as required including weekends and nights.
