This is an exciting opportunity to play a vital part in protecting the Trust's IT systems, data, and infrastructure that support patient care across Somerset.

Main duties of the job

As an IT Cyber Security Analyst, you will:

  • Monitor and maintain the Trust's cyber security systems.
  • Respond to cyber alerts, incidents and NHS Digital CareCERT notifications.
  • Support the investigation and resolution of security issues across networks, servers, and applications.
  • Assist with security testing, patch management, and accreditation processes.
  • Work with colleagues across Digital Services, clinicians, and external partners to keep our systems secure and resilient.
  • Contribute to disaster recovery and business continuity planning

You will also have opportunities to support digital transformation projects, ensuring security is embedded from design through to delivery.

  • Good general level of education with a minimum of GCSE Maths and English 4 or above.Degree in a relevant field is required or demonstrate equivalent knowledge and skills gained through any combination of alternative study and/or previous employment

Desirable

  • Cyber Security certification (CISSP, CEH, SCCP)Cyber Security training (Comptia security+)IT certification (Microsoft certified etc)ITIL Qualification

Experience

Essential

  • Working with 3rd party suppliers ensuring a high-quality service is delivered.Working with NHS professionals to implement information and operational systems.Experience of managing priorities and participating in large projects.Demonstrable evidence of working in a technical IT Environment.

Desirable

  • Experience of working in an ITIL based environment with an emphasis on project management, change control, incident management, customer service and service delivery.IT Security experience within the NHS, public sector or major private sector organisation
