The Somerset Adult ADHD Service is actively recruiting a Band 6 Nurse to join our innovative and supportive team. We are a busy, hard-working countywide service, providing patient-centred ADHD assessments and treatment to adults living in Somerset who have not already been given an ADHD diagnosis.

We work collaboratively with colleagues within Somerset NHS Foundation Trust, alongside wider support networks and partner agencies, to deliver an integrated service model. This role offers the opportunity to work both independently and under direct clinical supervision, conducting Adult ADHD assessments, supporting treatment, and contributing to the ongoing development of our service.

Main duties of the job

  • Carry out comprehensive Adult ADHD assessments using evidence-based tools and processes.

  • Maintain accurate clinical records in line with professional and Trust standards.

  • Develop and contribute to non-pharmacological treatment options within the service.

  • Communicate effectively with service users, families, referrers, and other agencies.

  • Work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality, person-centred care.

  • Contribute to service development, audits, and quality improvement initiatives.

  • Provide specialist advice, education, and support to colleagues, patients, families, and carers.

  • RMN/RNMH/RNLD qualification.
  • Professional knowledge acquired through degree supplemented by diploma level specialist training, short courses
  • Registered nurse or hold other relevant professional qualification and current registration appropriate to the job role.
  • Professional registration with relevant statutory body

Desirable

  • ADHD Training or equivalent
  • UKAAN Course

Experience

  • Post registration experience including proven experience working at a Band 6 level
  • Utilise advanced clinical reasoning and decision making skills
