Job summary
The Housekeeping Supervisor supports management in delivering high-quality cleaning services within the hospital, ensuring excellent customer service for patients, staff, and visitors. The role involves supervising and coordinating cleaning staff, maintaining standards in line with national guidelines, managing resources efficiently, and addressing day-to-day operational issues. The Supervisor also plays a key part in staff training, auditing cleaning standards, and contributing to continuous service improvement.
Main duties of the job
Supervise and coordinate cleaning staff, including agency staff, to ensure services meet required standards
Provide excellent customer service to patients, staff, and visitors
Implement and maintain cleaning procedures in line with national cleaning standards
Train, induct, and arrange refresher training for cleaning staff
Audit cleaning standards and take action to maintain quality
Manage staff records, timesheets, and attendance
Liaise with clinical and non-clinical teams to resolve cleaning issues and maintain good working relationships
Participate in recruitment of cleaning staff
Monitor and manage cleaning materials and equipment to ensure cost-effective service delivery
Complete accident and incident forms as required
Contribute to service improvements and promote the cleaning function within the organisation
