Are you an experienced Paediatric Dietitian? Are you looking to further your career within a Team Lead position within an acute District General Hospital?

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Paediatric Dietitian to lead the Paediatric dietetic team at Yeovil District Hospital.

Our supportive team is experienced, highly regarded, integral members of the wider multidisciplinary paediatric teams, providing both inpatient and a county wide outpatient service.

You will need to be passionate about working with children and improving services. The post holder will be responsible for ensuring that the service to this clinical area is equitable and progressive and also responsible for support and supervision of the team members working with them.

What are we looking for?

Ideally, you'll have varied post-graduate experience, covering a range of specialties (this would be normally be equivalent to 2 or more years' experience). This will include experience in working with patients requiring complex nutritional interventions. Advanced communication skills and strong MDT working experience are essential. Training and support will be available.

You need to be registered as a Dietitian with the Health and Care Professions Council and ideally have current NHS experience.

Main duties of the job

As a Paediatric Dietitian Team lead you will manage and support the paediatric dietetic team at Yeovil District Hospital as well as being an integral member of the wider paediatric team across the county of Somerset. You will have a designated caseload of paediatric patients at Yeovil District Hospital in addition to providing outpatient services which may be outside of the hospital site. The types of patients referred include faltering growth, eating disorders, diabetes, food allergies, preterm infants and restrictive diets. We are also an integral part of MDTs within the Organisation.

At Yeovil District Hospital we have a 23 bed inpatient ward and we provide Paediatric outpatient clinics which are run as a mixture of face to face, video (Attend Anywhere) and telephone. We also provide ad hoc cover to consultant paediatrician clinics as required and are also part of some MDT clinics.
