Job summary
This post requires a graduate level state-registered Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist with relevant clinical experience.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 Therapist to join the Rapid Intervention Therapy Team at Yeovil District Hospital to lead the therapy service to the Emergency Department, Acute Medical Unit and associated triage areas. The successful individual will be expected to work closely alongside other experienced Team Lead staff to provide clinical expertise and operational leadership to a team of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Rehabilitation Support workers.
Main duties of the job
Main duties of the role are:
- To provide a clinical service with the objective of Admission Avoidance / minimisation of acute Inpatient stay, working within a Transdisciplinary Team model to make decisions around the most appropriate plan and place of care.
- To plan, co-ordinate and carry out rapid assessment and treatment of patients presenting with multifactorial issues in what is often, a challenging and pressured environment/situation.
- Providing clinical expertise, evidence based training and support to all Therapy staff and the multi-disciplinary team
- Partnership working with community colleagues to respond to an urgent need. Joined up working is an essential component of this role and development of Integrated Patient Pathways is required.
- Providing clinical and strategic leadership for the Rapid Intervention service with responsibilities for safety, quality, training and clinical governance agendas; supporting the workforce to deliver exceptional care
