Job summary
We are seeking to recruit cleaning team members who have a passion for high quality cleaning and patient care within the hospital setting.
This role will be to deliver cleaning to the national standards, work as part of a large cleaning team and complete all mandatory training. The cleaning team plays a vital role ensuring that the hospital and associated buildings are clean. This is a key element both in reducing hospital acquired infections and in maintaining the public's positive image of the hospital.
Cleaning team members also have key patient interactions and serve beverages to patients.

Main duties of the job
To maintain a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness, as defined within the National Standards of Cleanliness, in all areas of responsibility, to work as a member of the FM Cleaning Services Team, to work within a patient and non-patient environment, and have daily contact with visitors, staff, and patients, to work as part of the cleaning response team as required, to ensure Infection Control guidelines are adhered to in line with Trust Policies and procedures.
Communicate verbally with Supervisors and colleagues on issues relating to work schedules or any problems on a daily basis. Communicate verbally with patients and relatives in a professional manner. Attend team meetings to gain Trust, Directorate and service information. Report all hazards or potential hazards that could involve patients, visitors or staff to the housekeeper/supervisor or nurse in charge. Communicate effectively with the multidisciplinary team in order to promote an efficient service and maintain effective channels of communication.
To take responsibility for own work. To organise own work in order in conjunction with clinical staff ensuring that patient care is prioritised. To share ideas for improvements to within the FM Team. Be aware of the need for confidentiality both within the written and spoken word at all times.
To ensure the correct use of chemicals for the type of surface and finish, making certain the handling and usage are in line with the COSHH regulations, data sheets and training given.
