Job summary
Do you enjoy completing prescription rehabilitation from both Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists with a complex variety caseload during their inpatient stay?
Do you enjoy participation and running of groups such as exercise classes and mindfulness sessions?
Due to progression, we have a fantastic Band 3 Rehabilitation Assistant part-time opportunity (30 hours). We have flexible working if required to support you with your work-life balance and competing needs.
The role is based within Oake Meadows, a care home team which is walking distance from the centre of Taunton and the ethos is to enable people to be as independent as possible.
We see people not only for their ongoing rehabilitations and support needs once discharged from the Acute hospital, but also through to the next stage of their journey into their home environment. This role works in collaboration with ongoing services to enable a person to maximise their potential in all aspects of occupations that are important to them.
Come and join our friendly therapy team which consists of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Rehabilitation Assistants alongside the wider MDT of Discharge Facilitator, Older Persons Mental Health staff, Adult Social Care and care home staff to see learn invaluable community and rehabilitation skills.
Main duties of the job
To work as an integral member of the Intermediate Care Service providing effective support to Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, and any other team members
To work with patients undertaking therapy/rehabilitation programmes to support and encourage them to achieve their optimum level of independence and quality of life, as directed by team therapists
To work with patients in a range of community locations, including community hospitals, care home rehabilitation units and in service users own homes with overall supervision from rehabilitation professionals.
The post holder will be required to work their hours over 7 days, including weekends and bank holidays, to meet the needs of the service, and must have UK driving licence and business insurance with access to a car for work duties.
