The closing date is 29 April 2025
Job summary
Are you an experienced and compassionate Registered Learning Disability Nurse (RNLD) looking to make a tangible difference in the lives of adults with learning disabilities in acute healthcare?
Somerset NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a dynamic and committed Band 6 Acute Learning Disability Liaison Nurse to join our dedicated liaison service team at Musgrove Park Hospital and Yeovil District Hospital. You will play a vital role in improving access to healthcare and reducing inequalities for adults with learning disabilities across our acute sites.
We welcome applications from those looking for full time or part-time hours (minimum of 30 hours) or job share arrangements.
Main duties of the job
As a Learning Disability Liaison Nurse, you'll provide expert guidance to acute staff, advocate for patients with learning disabilities, and ensure reasonable adjustments are identified and implemented under the Equality Act 2010. From planned admissions and outpatient appointments to emergency presentations, you'll support safe, equitable care through every stage of the patient journey.
This is a great opportunity for a motivated RNLD to further develop their specialist skills, influence patient outcomes, and contribute to wider cultural change in acute care settings.
Join a team where your expertise will help remove barriers and make healthcare safer, more accessible, and more inclusive for people with learning disabilities.
