Job summary

We are currently transforming Mental Health Services in Somerset and have an exciting opportunity a for you to be part of an expanding Community Mental Health Service. We have a vacancy for a Support Time and Recovery Worker to join our Community Mental Health Service in South Somerset.

Main duties of the job

Work with other members of the Community Mental Health Service both professionally qualified and other STR workers to ensure that the Team is accurately informed about progress with treatment and recovery of individual patients who include both in-patients and those taken on by the team for home treatment. This will include attending and actively participating in training sessions, team/care plan review meetings and supervision as appropriate.

To support people to engage with their agreed care plan by working towards agreed goals through regular and consistent support . This includes delivering evidence-based approaches under supervision e.g. graded exposure for anxiety, behavioural activation work for depressive disorders and other conditions, and promoting emotional skills for people's experience dysregulation.

Positively promote independent living of people within the community. Develop a therapeutic rapport with patients within appropriate and transparent boundaries. To provide regular and practical support to people and their carers in developing and managing dignity and independence. To provide support with daily living from an agreed care plan based on support identified by the keyworkers.

A collaborative, recovery focused, and strengths-based approach is essential to this role. The post holder will be supporting individuals in their community environment as well as providing in-reach to those who are in-patients to support them to return home.

The post holder will work within a Community Mental Health Service that has challenged the traditional boundaries between primary and secondary care in partnership with the Voluntary Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) sector. Liaison with a wide range of partners is central to the role.

The post holder will participate in team and service development and evaluation.

The post holder must have a full driving licence and have permanent access to own transport with appropriate business insurance and work within the lone working policy.
