Job summary
Somerset NHS Foundation Trust currently has an exciting opportunity for an experienced administrator to join the Safeguarding Advisory Service. The Team consists of the Director of Safeguarding, Strategic Leads for Safeguarding Adults & Children, Named Midwife for Safeguarding, Domestic Abuse Lead, Named Doctor for Safeguarding Children, Lead Consultant for Safeguarding Adults & the core Safeguarding Duty Team. The Safeguarding Advisory Service provides expert safeguarding advice, supervision, and training to over 13000 staff across the acute and community hospitals, EDs and MIUs across Somerset.
We are looking for a capable, enthusiastic and motivated individual to join this dynamic and successful team, providing administrative support to the whole team, managed by the PA & Office Manager.
This is a varied and interesting role, ideal for someone who enjoys a fast paced environment, using their own initiative and working independently at times whilst also having the support of a larger administrative team. If you have strong administrative skills and are interested in working to support vulnerable children and adults this could be just the role for you. The nature of the workload can be distressing, however, the postholder will have regular supervision & opportunities to discuss any worries with the wider team.
This is a full time position at 37.5 hours per week, however, 30 hours would be considered. This is a hybrid role.
Main duties of the job
The post involves providing comprehensive, secretarial and administrative support to the Safeguarding Advisory Service to ensure efficient and smooth running of the service.
The postholder will be required to work in a very busy and demanding environment and should be flexible and adaptable whilst having the ability to prioritise work and use their initiative to make sound judgements.
The postholder will be required to provide a wide range of secretarial and administrative duties, including liaison with colleagues in partner agencies to enhance the service provision of safeguarding across the Trust and with partner agencies.
To support with organising child protection medicals across the county, including liaison with families, Children's Social Care, Police and other partner agencies.
Support with creation and management of safeguarding databases and dashboards that enable readily available, up to date data to be provided to members of the Safeguarding Advisory Service. To work with little supervision on a day-to-day basis, within agreed Trust Policies and Procedures.
