Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity to join the already established Uro-Oncology Clinical Nurse Specialist team. We are seeking compassionate people with experience of working in urology or oncology to join our cross county service. This opportunity is for a Uro-Oncology Clinical Nurse Specialist based at Yeovil District Hospital to support patients, relatives and carers with a diagnosis of a urological cancer. We value our Clinical Nurse Specialists highly, so development and training within this role will be offered and prioritised.
You'll require good communication skills, a team work approach to their role and be able to provide a high standard of nursing care with the support of the wider team. Main duties of the job
To deliver patient care on a daily basis, using the systems in place in the department for a multi-disciplinary approach to patient-centred care delivery, which builds on the philosophy of greater involvement of patients and their relatives/carers by using the Trusts patient and public involvement strategy.
You'll utilise skills of clinical expertise, education and management to ensure a seamless service for patients, carers and staff. You'll provide advice, support and information from the time of diagnosis and throughout curative, palliative and terminal phases.
To provide effective clinical support and a point of contact, in the absence of the senior members of the team, which empowers staff to deliver patient- centred, evidence based nursing care.
