Job summary

A vacancy has arisen for a Registered Nurse in the Operating Theatre at Minehead Day Surgery Unit within the Minehead Community Hospital.

This would suit a professional who has previous experience as a scrub practitioner in an Operating Theatre, but is not an essential requirement, as there will be an opportunity to develop scrub skills and recently qualified staff would therefore be considered on application.

Fulfil a patient advocate role whilst delivering direct patient care.

About us

The Day Surgery Unit consists of an admissions, post operative ward and a theatre suite and patient comments include feedback that this unit is comparable to a private facility delivering exceptional care. A variety of services and specialities are offered to the Somerset population for procedures under local anaesthetic. These include Orthopaedic hand surgery, Maxillofacial Surgery, Podiatric Surgery, Dermatology and Urology procedures.

We are looking for a Registered Nurse to join our established team, a good team player who puts patients first.

As an organisation, Somerset NHS Foundation Trust offers employees a wide range of benefits including flexible working, NHS pension scheme, generous annual leave allowance and a commitment to career development.

As an inclusive employer we welcome applications from all backgrounds.

Working in Somerset enables you to enjoy the idyllic countryside, areas of outstanding beauty and stunning coastlines whilst still only being a stone's throw away from bustling city centres like Bristol, Bath and Exeter and only two hours away from London.

There are excellent educational facilities in the area and when compared to other regions, house prices are reasonable.
