Job summary
The Somerset Lung Centre is a thriving outpatient facility for the diagnosis and treatment of respiratory disorders, delivering a range of tests. The Lung Centre forms part of the Respiratory Medicine Department at Musgrove Park Hospital. There may be occasions where the post holder will be required to work at other hospital sites, such as Taunton Diagnostic Centre.
We are looking for a caring individual to help assist the Lung Centre team deliver clinical support in an outpatient setting. As part of this busy and dynamic department, you will be required to use your own initiative and take an active role within the team.
This role is working as part of a large multi-disciplinary team responsible for supporting the Respiratory Physiology Team, nurses and Consultants to deliver an efficient service for patients including inpatients and outpatients, and their families.
You should have the ability to work flexibly, be able to work using your own initiative and enjoy working as part of a team. A keen eye for detail and accuracy is also required. Previous experience of working in a healthcare environment is desirable but not essential.
Main duties of the job
To provide a variety of routine clinical measurement diagnostic investigations
Support and assist the Clinical Physiologists in investigations.
Support the Administration team with Clerical duties as and when required.
Participated in follow up clinics, recording patient treatment, within set criteria.
To work independently and as part of a team. The Assistant Physiologist is responsible for managing their own workload and be responsible for delivering on specific objectives as set by the Lead/Senior physiologists
