Job summary
We are seeking consultant dermatologists who have completed their dermatology training with CCT and wish to work in a rapidly growing dermatology team. Development of a sub-speciality interest is encouraged and academic links to neighbouring university hospitals in Bristol, Bath, Exeter and Plymouth can be established.
One position will be based at Musgrove Park Hospital, in Taunton and one position will be based at Yeovil District Hospital, in Yeovil. Both with outreach to our local community hospitals throughout the county.
Main duties of the job
We currently provide a broad spectrum of outpatient activity including general adult and paediatric dermatology (not tertiary care) and skin cancer services. We are closely supported by our Nurse Specialist team in the provision and monitoring of systemic therapies, including biological therapies and isotretinoin, and skin cancer diagnosis, support and follow up. Phototherapies are provided at Yeovil District Hospital, Yeatman Hospital in Sherborne and at Musgrove Park Hospital, Taunton. We provide a busy patch testing service at the Yeovil site.
The Dermatology department works closely with neighbouring departments in Bristol and Exeter. We access Medical and Clinical Oncology services via our SSMDT at Taunton. Consultant Plastic Surgeons attend the skin cancer MDT and undertake surgical lists and outpatient clinics weekly at Yeovil District Hospital.
Clinical duties and minor surgery account for 7 sessions per week and a half day in a community dermatology hub along with support from GPwERs.
