Job summary
To form part of the Trusts Estates & Property Management service providing expert technical estates input into the Site Development Plan, Estate Development Programme, Future Hospital Programme, Decarbonisation Strategy and Climate Change Adaptation Plan. The primary purpose of the role is to provide technical engineering advice to ensure all construction, adaptation, or modifications of the estate/services meet the legal, regulatory, or best practice standards to ensure the trust provides a fit for purpose, efficient, effective, safe, and well maintained estate.
Main duties of the job
To act as the engineering/technical lead and support all project leads by influencing the safe and efficient design of construction/service projects. To ensure that all technical submittals for new builds, adaptations, modifications or new installations to the Trust's building stock or plant and equipment are designed in accordance with the legal, regulatory, best practice standards to ensure key design/project deliverables are achieved with the best possible outcome to support a safe environment and that the trust receives maintainable assets.A main function of the role is to act as the primary liaison/critical linkage between the Estates and Facilities Directorate and the Trust's Capital redevelopment team and associated construction/services project managers.Responsible for the dissemination of any project derogation schedules and managing the outcome via submitting, delivering, and managing the outcome from relevant working groups. Support the Estates & Facilities Team with technical engineering support to ensure the annual estates backlog maintenance/capital investment programme provides a balance of best value and technical compliance. To act as the Estates & Facilities liaison to monitor the design, planning and execution of forward investment planning and the NHP site redevelopment programme across the estate, including the Surgical Centre project, developing a soft landings approach in conjunction with the Trust's Project team & the Principal Supply Chain Partner.
