Job summary

Are you an experienced Dietitian looking to develop your career within acute services, both in surgery and medicine, including stroke?

We have an exciting opportunity for a Dietitian to develop the dietetic service provision for the acute medicine and surgical wards at Yeovil Hospital, working closely with colleagues on pathways linking to other teams across our Somerset wide service.

We are a friendly, supportive, and dynamic team with excellent admin support. We pride ourselves on growth and development, and support members of the team to undertake relevant training.

This role is also available as a band 5 development post for those who want to further develop their skills into a band 6 role with the support of a development plan.

Main duties of the job

To provide a service across a number of acute surgical and medical wards, including stroke. There may also be occasions where you'll be asked to cover specialist outpatient clinics.

You'll provide leadership and support to a Band 5 Dietitian and Dietetic Assistant and will become a part of a welcoming integrated team of Dietitians, Dietetic Apprentices, Dietetic Support Workers, Nutrition Nurses and Administrative staff at Yeovil District Hospital, as well as Musgrove Park Hospital and the Community.

You'll also be involved with student training as we are a placement provider for student dietitians (A, B, C) from Plymouth University and we also support apprenticeship placements.
