Do you want to work for a Sonography Service that excels in its service delivery and benefits from impressive equipment standards?

Then we would love for you to join our dynamic and supportive team of multi-disciplinary Sonographers here at SFT. We are currently looking to recruit a highly motivated and professional sonographer to join our team. You can be either a general medical or obstetric sonographer or both.

You will get the opportunity to perform all obstetric including Nuchal scans, general abdominal, gynaecological ultrasound examinations at Somerset NHS Foundation Trust and peripheral sites, working in line with Band 7 expectations in all areas of practice.

Our purpose built Diagnostic Ultrasound department has a fleet of flag ship GE equipment, a successful, more than 10 years, rolling Sonographer training program, 7 day affable Radiologist support and dedicated Interventional Ultrasound facilities.

Our refurbished Antenatal clinic is based adjacent to the antenatal clinic, providing Antenatal care to approximately 3500 women a year and has state of the art Canon and GE equipment in a 4 bed unit, providing an interdisciplinary fusion of Radiographer, Nurse and Midwife Sonographer led services.

Main duties of the job

As an Obstetric Sonographer, you will be an integral part of the maternity service and work closely with the Obstetric teams to provide exceptional care to all patients. This includes working alongside the ANC Screening team and FMC to deliver the FASP & achieve all KPI's within your practice.

As a General Medical Sonographer, you will be a strong team player, working as part of team undertaking a wide range of examinations. The Radiologists at MPH are approachable with an eagerness to facilitate learning and development to providing exceptional service to all patients.

You are expected, across both disciplines,to perform and report ultrasound examinations to a high standard in a professional manner, working within departmental guidelines whilst being accountable for your own practice. Reports are expected to be of high qualityproviding advice on future patient management to other clinicians.

Excellent communication skills are essential within both spheres, you will be expected to adapt your style of communication to meet the needs of a variety of situations, some of which can be distressing.

Any other reasonable task as directed by line manager commensurate with grade.
