Gould Ward is a 27 bedded unit of orthogeriatric trauma patients. We specialise in nursing patients over the age of 60 who have sustained a hip fracture. undertaking their pre and post operative care, commencing rehabilitation and planning for a safe discharge. We care for patients that have varying degrees of cognitive impairment.
We value our RGNs highly, so development and training within this role will be offered and prioritised. There is an expectation that hours are worked flexibly over a rota basis which does include nights and weekends. We have full time and part time hours available.
You will require good communication skills, a team work approach and be able provide a high standard of nursing care with the support of your team.

Main duties of the job
To provide and maintain a high standard of evidence based, patient centred care. To demonstrate good interpersonal skills and to develop practical skills required within the speciality, whist reflecting the philosophy of care.
Delivery of patient care on a daily basis, using the systems in place on the ward for a multi-disciplinary approach to patient-centred care delivery, which builds on the philosophy of greater involvement of patients and their relatives/carers by using the Trusts patient and public involvement strategy.
Experienced Band 5 post holders will also provide effective clinical and managerial leadership of the department, in the absence of the senior members of the team, which empowers staff to deliver patient- centred, evidence based nursing care
