Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Endoscopist to join our Endoscopy team within Somerset NHS Foundation Trust. The role will include working across different hospital sites within the county at Musgrove Park Hospital Taunton and Bridgwater Community Hospital to deliver the excellent high standard of endoscopy care to our patients. We are looking for an enthusiastic proficient Clinical Endoscopist in either Upper and/or Lower GI Endoscopy and if required we can support the training of either modality. The role requires flexibility between clinical and administrative sessions, including being adaptable to deliver and support the service at short notice if required.
This role could be an option for a development opportunity as a trainee Clinical Endoscopist at a Band 7 (AFC) level for the duration of the training programme.
Main duties of the job
- Support and deliver clinical endoscopy sessions.
- Contribute to the service delivery in an operational capacity contributing to maintaining the JAG standards and in line with the Trusts and local policies.
- The post holder will join an existing team of Clinical Endoscopist's. As a team you will be responsible for the efficient & effective provision of the non-medical endoscopy service in conjunction with other members of the multidisciplinary team adhering to BSG & JAG guidelines.
- The post holder will provide expert evidence-based advice and clinical expertise in endoscopy and related specific diseases as per their designated role to meet the needs of their patients. Advanced clinical practice is characterized by a high level of autonomy & complex decision making underpinned by a master's level award, or equivalent, that encompasses the four pillars of, clinical practice, management & leadership, education and research, as outlined in the Multi-professional framework for advanced clinical practice in England.
