Are you currently a Senior Clinical Coder interested in joining a busy and high performing team at a large NHS Trust in Somerset?
Here at Somerset NHS Foundation Trust, we are excited to recruit a high calibre individual to join our existing professional team of Clinical Coders.
You will work as part of a team to deliver a first class service to ensure the efficient high quality provision of clinically coded data to support the Trust's clinical and business requirements.
There are exciting plans for future development opportunities within the role, working across the two acute hospital sites (Taunton and Yeovil) in addition to remote working options.
We are one of the first Trusts in the UK to deliver integrated Acute, Community and Mental Health Services therefore we can offer a varied role working across a a wide range of specialist services.
We are currently offering a 10% Recruitment and Retention Premium which will be paid monthly in addition to your salary.

Main duties of the job
As a Clinical Coding Officer you will be responsible for analysing and extracting complex clinical information from the medical record and translating this into clinical code using the ICD-10 and OPCS-4 classifications.
Key responsibilities will include:
Quality - Help maintain the highest accuracy standards in line with both national standards and local policies.
Timeliness - Achievement of both departmental and Trust wide Key Performance Indicators to support operational and financial performance reporting.
Clinical engagement - Working with clinicians to both raise the profile and champion the Clinical Coding function to drive improvement in the accuracy of information derived from the Clinical Coding process.
