Job summary

We are seeking a Band 3 Assistant to provide effective administrative and co-ordination support directly to the Patient Safety & Learning team. The post holder will support a wide range of processes, meetings and initiatives that enable the effective delivery of all team objectives.

The post holder will be expected to maintain high standards with excellent written and verbal communication, alongside having exceptional organisational skills.

Main duties of the job

We are seeking an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to provide comprehensive administrative support. The post will provide support directly to the Patient Safety & Learning team, which works within the wider Governance Support Team.

Primary duties will include administrative support for all main meetings relevant to the workstreams in the team, coordination of reports, preparation of agendas and associated documentation, minute taking, sharing of diary invites and room booking, and other general admin tasks.

  • Key skills in literacy and numeracy Level 2 or O Level / GCSE in Maths and English grade C or above

Desirable

  • Office administration and/or secretarial qualifications at RSA Level 3, NVQ 3, or equivalent knowledge gained through experience
  • ECDL trained or other Microsoft Office qualifications (including Word, Excel) or equivalent experience
  • Typing/Word processing qualification

Experience

Essential

  • Excellent keyboard skills
  • Comprehensive knowledge of secretarial and administrative procedures and the ability to undertake associated tasks ensuring adherence to defined procedures and guidelines
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of Microsoft Packages such as Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint

Desirable

  • Secretarial/administrative experience in an NHS environment.
  • Minute taking experience
