Job summary

With an ever-increasing demand for cancer care in Somerset, this is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic Speciality Doctor to join our dynamic and cohesive team. You will work with a multi-professional team delivering cancer care to the population of circa 535,000. Oncology training and support for long term career development to associate specialist will be provided.

The post holder will be expected to join site specific teams and participate in MDTs, clinics, day unit, acute oncology and inpatient work. This post will be based predominantly in the Beacon Centre, Taunton, and will also provide clinics across the county

Main duties of the job

This post will be based at Taunton andwill be responsible to, and work under the supervision of the Consultant Oncologists. You will be expected to actively participate in teaching sessions as well as all audit projects within the department.

You will join our current team of Consultant Oncologists, Associate Specialists, Specialty doctors and registrars.

Facilities for the treatment of cancer in Taunton are provided in the Beacon Centre which is able to provide a comprehensive radiotherapy service led by the clinical oncologists. In Yeovil we provide patients with Outpatient Clinics and Chemotherapy from the St Margaret's Hospice site along with the wider directorate team includes an Acute Oncology Service, an Immunotherapy service with the Immunotherapy CNSs, the Chemotherapy CNSs and a TYA CNS.
