Somerset Cancer Register (SCR) Customer Support Assistant

Job summary

We are looking to appoint an Customer Support Assistant who will provide first line support for our customers for our web applications.SCR is a web application designed to collect patient data to help healthcare professionals manage the patient's pathway, from GP referral through to end of treatment.

Remote Monitoring System (RMS) assists specialists to schedule and review surveillance tests for patients who have completed treatments without the need for face-to-face outpatient appointments.

RMS is linked to SCR and enables data transfer/lookup capabilities between both systems.

Main duties of the job

  • Provision of general application support for SCR, dealing with system enquiries/problems/requests in accordance with customer service level agreements
  • Triaging, prioritising, assigning calls, and liaising with customers by using SCR's Service Management application.
  • Resolving application support calls where possible
  • Liaising with customers / developers and scheduling SCR / RMS version upgrades
  • Participate in SCR releases system / regression and other testing when required.

  • Educated to NVQ level 3 in IT related subject or equivalent gained through specific relevant experience
  • GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths (A-C)
  • Evidence of own continuing professional development

Desirable

  • ECDL or IT/Microsoft qualification
  • ITIL Foundation

Knowledge

Essential

  • Good working knowledge of Windows operating systems and software applications including MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Sharepoint)
  • Data Protection (GDPR) / data security principles

Desirable

  • Client / server computing, networking, security, relational databases
  • Microsoft technologies / products such as Windows Server, Azure, Active Directory, IIS, SQL Server
  • Systems integration / interfacing technologies / platforms / integration engines
  • Awareness of national guidance on cancer including care pathways / waiting times
  • Software development lifecycle

EXPERIENCE
