Job summary

We are looking for an experienced Health Care Assistant to join our Outpatient team. The post holder will be responsible for supporting the Registered Nurses with the smooth running of a wide range of clinics for adults and children within the department, under the overall supervision of the Lead Nurse and Senior Sister.

Main duties of the job

Health Care Assistant Band 3 Minehead Community Hospital ( 22.5 hours available)

You will provide a welcoming service to patients and be responsible for one or more clinics each day to include phlebotomy, assisting Consultants and Specialist Nurses with procedures including the use of specialised equipment, close observation of patients following procedures and the support of patients and their families whilst within the department.

You will be required to work Monday to Friday flexibly between 08:00 to 18:00. Occasional weekend working will be required.

You may also be required to travel to other Community Hospitals to cover Outpatient Clinics at Chard, and Dean Barton on a needs basis therefore Car driver essential.

Informal discussions are welcomed.

Recent experience of working within a clinic environment is desirable but not essential. You must possess good verbal and written communication skills, have high clinical standards and the ability to work as part of a team.
