Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an immunisation assistant to join Somerset SAINT (school aged immunisation nursing team). Somerset SAINT is responsible for the delivery of immunisations to school aged children within schools and community settings.

We are seeking a motivated person to work as part of our mixed skills team. Usual working hours will be 4 days a week, 8am - 4pm, Monday to Friday (annualised hours) with the expectation of occasionally covering clinics in the evenings, school holidays and weekends.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will as part of the school age immunisation team providing support to the team at vaccination sessions and the admin role of the team. This will involve ensuring that every eligible child is seen by an immuniser and their outcomes recorded, helping children and young people pre and post vaccination

There is a requirement to work with vulnerable children and families in line with national and local policies relating to safeguarding children and to provide specialist support and advice to children, families and schools regarding the health and wellbeing needs of children.
