Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 7 Ophthalmic OPD Sister/Charge Nurse. This role is a permanent role and is aimed at providing targeted training and leadership.

This role would be ideally suited to someone who has Ophthalmology and band 7 experience and has previously held a significant leadership role. Applicants need to be self-motivated and interested in Quality Improvement and staff development to support colleagues in achieving efficient utilisation

Main duties of the job

Key roles and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Day to day coordination of the unit
  • Work collaboratively with the Consultants and Ophthalmology team
  • Participate in the Quality Improvement work
  • Management of the peripheral Ophthalmology Service
  • Development and implantation of the Ophthalmic service
  • Motivation and leadership of ophthalmic staff
