This is an exciting opportunity for a Specialty Doctor with experience in Dermatology to join our busy, innovative and friendly team to enhance Dermatology services across South Somerset.
This post for a Specialty Doctor in Dermatology based at Yeovil District Hospital, and reflects the increase in workload in both general Dermatology and the increasing demand for skin cancer management. The Dermatology department works closely with neighbouring departments in Bristol and Exeter. We access Medical and Clinical Oncology services via our SSMDT at Taunton. Consultant Plastic Surgeons attend the skin cancer MDT and undertake surgical lists and outpatient clinics weekly at Yeovil District Hospital.

Main duties of the job
- Specialty Doctors must have a minimum of 4 years' experience since qualification, 2 of which must be in Dermatology.
- The post holder's professional progress will be reviewed annually by the supervisory Consultant.
- To organise, manage and be responsible for the diagnosis and treatment of patients in Yeovil District Hospital in conjunction with Consultant colleagues in the Dermatology Service.
- To participate in the teaching of Foundation and Junior Doctors in clinic as to Medical Students.
- To maintain a good working relationship with existing staff members in the Hospital.
- To attend other Hospitals within the Trust if so requested by the supervising Consultant.
- The post holder will undertake, exceptionally, to perform additional duties in occasional emergencies and unforeseen circumstances.

Narrowband UVB phototherapy is provided at Yeovil District Hospital, and a local community Hospital. PUVA and photodynamic therapy are available locally. We provide a busy patch testing service at the Yeovil site. We strongly encourage and support development of subspecialty interests to augment our local service.
