Job summary

Musgrove Park hospital is looking to recruit Healthcare Support Workers to be a part of our fantastic care team here in Taunton.

We are looking for individuals who are compassionate and caring, great at chatting and listening to our patients to provide reassurance at a time when they may be feeling worried. Overall you must have a commitment to the health and wellbeing of the people we care for.

We currently have vacancies in the following medical wards;

Coleridge ward- Respiratory ward

Portman Ward- On Portman ward we treat patients with breathing problems or lung conditions.

Dunkery Ward-stroke and rehab ward

Fielding Ward- Treat severe heart condition

AMU-Admissions and assesment unit

CCU-Coronary care unit

SDEC-same day emergency care unit

AFU-Acute Frailty Unit

Accident and emergency department

We will be holding an interview day for this role at Musgrove Park Hospital at the end of February we will be in contact with you and invite you to an allocated time slot. If successful you will walk away with a job offer!!

The role of HCSW does not meet the minimum skill requirement set by UKVI for sponsorship, therefore we are not able to issue a certificate of sponsorships for this role.

Main duties of the job

Experience of working in a care setting would be advantageous but all necessary skills training, professional updates and mandatory training as appropriate to the post will be provided.

Shift patterns: As an acute hospital service we provide 24 hours, 7 days a week care to our patients, as such working shifts is essential for this role. You would be working shift pattern of:

Days: Between the hours of 7am and 7:30pm

Nights: Between the hours of 7pm and 7:30 am

Rotas cover: Weekdays, Weekends and Bank Holidays (we have enhanced pay for weekends, nights and bank holidays)

We do offer part time hours anything from 24 hours (2 long days) and under 37.5 hours

Part time hours are anything from 23 hours (2 long days) and under 37.5 hours on a shift rota basis.
