Staff Nurse - Crewkerne Community Hospital

We currently have a vacancy for full time or part time registered nurse working within the multi-disciplinary team on The Ward at Crewkerne Community Hospital

Crewkerne is nestled in the beautiful Somerset countryside, close to the boarder of both Devon and Dorset. The ward has a mix of single rooms and bays as well as a communal areas for patients. The ward is supported with an activities co-ordinator.

Main duties of the job

Successful applicants will be responsible for all aspects of patient care, from admission through to discharge, using a computerised record keeping system.

You will have the opportunity to attend family meetings, undertake ward rounds and be involved in multi-disciplinary team meetings. These all contribute to the decision making process, goal setting and care planning that facilitates a safe discharge home from Hospital.

You will provide general nursing care to all of your patients, ensuring they are treated with dignity and respect. You will be able to promote a safe environment within the unit and act as a shift coordinator as required.

You must be a Registered Nurse who is able to communicate at all levels, have high clinical standards and have the ability to work as part of a team.

You would be required to work flexibly on an internal shift rotation, working both days and nights over a seven day period, including bank holidays. In return you will receive enhanced payments for working unsocial hours, a generous holiday entitlement and pension scheme.

Preceptorship nurses are also encouraged to apply, and a full preceptorship programme is offered by the Trust.
