A vacancy is available in the Ophthalmology team for an enthusiastic Administration Apprentice with good communication skills and a friendly, professional persona.

Main duties of the job

  • To provide general admin support to the Ophthalmology team.
  • To answer incoming telephone calls from patients, carers and other healthcare professionals, taking messages or referring onto other departments as appropriate.
  • To ensure all medical record documents are filed correctly in the medical notes.
  • To ensure all post is collected, sorted and distributed accordingly.
  • To use the hospital administration system TrakCare for all patient related data, including medical records tracking.
  • Booking of outpatient follow up appointments
  • The admin assistant will be responsible for the batch printing of Ophthalmology clinic letters using Medisight.
