Job summary
Somerset Foundation Trust is continuing to invest in DBT for people with Complex Emotional Needs. It is well ahead in its Community Transformation, resulting in an increase of psychological interventions offered. Therefore we are seeking another exceptional DBT Therapist to join our team, based in Yeovil.
We would love to hear from you if you are an accredited DBT therapist (band 7) and we would consider applications if you are well on your way towards accreditation, being awarded a band 7 post on completion of that journey.
We are looking for someone who is a passionate DBT advocate, with fabulous skills, who works hard but also maintains a satisfactory work/life balance and who is able to play a part in the Community Transformation for people, their families and carers.
Main duties of the job
You will offer a specialist DBT assessment and evidence-based interventions to a caseload of people with mental health difficulties some or all of whom have severe and enduring mental health problems and who may present with complex and challenging psychological problems. A focus on a collaborative and strengths-based approach is essential to this role.
You will work within Specialist Psychological Interventions in a Community Mental Health Service that has challenged the traditional boundaries between primary and secondary care in partnership with Service Users, the Voluntary Sector and Community Enterprise.
You will be part of the Somerset DBT hub, and will provide DBT assessment, pre-DBT, DBT skills groups, 1:1 DBT therapy sessions, telephone coaching, and be part of the consult team.
You will provide patient-based DBT consultancy and advice to staff, including those working with challenging and complex clients. To promote good care and challenge stigma the post holder would be liaising with a wide range of partners,
Willing and able to contribute to the development and delivery of appropriate training courses as required. You will contribute to the clinical leadership of the team. Participate in team and service development and evaluation. As a service we are committed to working with experts by experience to held shape and enhance.
