Job summary
An exciting opportunity has opened in our CAMHS West Community Team for a Family Therapist to join our CQC rated Outstanding CAMHS service (Jan 2023). We are proud to say we achieve our goals of seeing all newly referred young people within a maximum of 6 weeks from acceptance of referral and have waiting times of no more than a few weeks for specialist therapies including family therapy.
We have average caseloads across the team of 15-25 young people, weighted based upon complexity and treatment planning, a comprehensive induction plan including shadowing members of the CAMHS West team and wider CAMHS service and frequent opportunities for additional training in therapies such as EMDR, DBT, CBT, eating difficulties and AMBIT for those clinicians interested in broadening their skill set.
You are invited to join our small and dedicated team of experienced family therapists who work together to provide clinics in the West Somerset Area.There is a wider network of Family Therapists in Somerset Foundation Trust,offering peer support and input into the wider development of Family Therapy. We also have links with Exeter University and are offering placement experiences to Trainee Family Therapists in addition to trainee nurses, social workers and occupational therapists.
Main duties of the job
Alongside your Family Therapy Clinics, you would be a valued member of our diverse Multi-Disciplinary Team, providing assessment and intervention to children and young people with Mental Health Disorders allowing you to work flexibly and creatively to ensure positive outcomes for the children young people and families in our service. The multi-disciplinary team is made up of family therapists, psychologists, mental health practitioners (Social Workers, Occupational Therapists and Mental Health Nurses), Psychiatrists and Support Workers.We ensure regular opportunity to support clinical discussion and shared hold of risk and risk management.
We are also looking for someone who is able to contribute to the team dynamic and learning by contributing to team meetings, peer supervision and clinical supervision. Wealso provide learning afternoons across both sides of the county to our wider CAMHS team which are lead and attended by clinicians from all backgrounds and experience. We are looking for a practitioner who can continue to build on developing a strong systemic approach to assessments and reflecting team practice.
