Job summary

The Taunton Community Rehabilitation Service is looking for a part time Physiotherapist to join our friendly team

Our team consists of Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, an Assistant Practitioner, Therapy Apprentices, Rehab assistants and a Pharmacy Tech who work with patients in their home environment providing rehabilitation for patients aged 18 and above. Referrals are from multiple sources including self-referrals, inter-professional, voluntary agencies, rapid response, hospital at home and D2A. The caseload is extremely varied from the straightforward mobility assessment to highly complex frailty, post-acute neuro-rehabilitation, orthopaedics and falls to name a few.

Main duties of the job

  • To provide high quality patient-centered care and specialist rehabilitation to adults referred to the Rehabilitation Service.
  • Participate in the development of the Rehabilitation Service in the community.
  • To provide specialist advice regarding the rehabilitation management of patients to families, carers and other members of the MDT.
  • Provide support, guidance and training to Band 5 Therapists, Apprentices, Assistant Practitioner, Rehab Assistants and Students.
  • Responsibility for a caseload of complex patients within both the community and the community hospital bedded environments.
  • Act as Clinical Supervisor and undertake Managerial Supervision including Appraisal for Band 5 Physiotherapists and Band 4 and Band 3 support staff.
  • Act as Team Lead in the Rehabilitation Managers absence, including supporting staff and attending any meetings delegated by the manager.
