Job summary

An excellent opportunity has arisen within the Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy department at Musgrove Park Hospital for a Nurse Practitioner.

The successful applicant will work with the SACT (Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy) team to assist in delivering a multifaceted service which covers many elements including patient education, staff training and education, outpatient pathways, and face to face acute reviews ensuring that high standards of quality care are delivered and maintained.

Providing clinical expertise, working with the Immunotherapy ANPs, SACT Nurse Practitioners in the provision of the SACT nursing service.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will have detailed clinical knowledge in this specialist area and will be a skilled nurse practitioner working as a core member within the SACT nursing team and wider multidisciplinary team.

The post holder will provide support for the SACT service in nurse led clinics such as first dose oral SACT and pre-assessment clinics, acting as a positive role model demonstrating high standards of care and communication

The post holder will enable nurses to acquire clinical and professional competencies by facilitating high quality education and staff development opportunities, supporting new ways of working that emphasises a more efficient and patient focused service, and will support the safe treatment, referral and discharge of patients with acute presentations in their specialty.
