WE ARE - a busy IAPT service in one of England's most desirable counties. Alongside CBT, we offer other time-limited Step 3 interventions (IPT, DIT, EMDR, Mindfulness) as well as innovative Step 2 treatments, such as guided self help, therapeutic groups, webinars, and a digital self-help portal.

WE PROVIDE - effective and timely evidence-based therapies following the IAPT model. We value patient outcomes and have a recovery rate consistently above 60% . Our innovative assessment and treatment model means there is no wait for step 2 interventions and effective systems for accessing step 3 interventions from assessment or stepping up.

Main duties of the job

THE ROLE - to provide HICBT interventions, working with clients who suffer from a range of anxiety disorders, depression and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) for which CBT is evidenced to be clinically effective. You will also be trained to provide duty cover to support other members of the team with clinical queries. Those with relevant experience and training clinically supervise other CBT therapists. We provide individual clinical supervision exceeding BABCP requirements in addition to group supervision. As recommended by BABCP newly qualified therapists receive a higher frequency and duration of supervision. Clinical supervisors routinely receive regular supervision of supervision.

WE VALUE: Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and support our therapists to undertake relevant training based on their development needs and service requirement. These include IAPT training in Clinical Supervision, Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MCBT), Long Term Conditions and Medically Unexplained Symptoms (LTC-MUS)and 'top up' trauma focused Cognitive Therapy for PTSD. The wellbeing of our staff is paramount to the service. We support this through wellbeing champions in each of the teams; offering a menu of wellbeing activities to choose from including thinking pit stops and mindfulness sessions; regular team building away days; managerial supervision and a dedicated trust colleague wellbeing and support service.

About us

BLENDED WORKING - We provide CBT both remotely via video consultation and in person at venues across Somerset, therapists have a mixture of remote and venue based working within the team locality. Successful applicants would be expected to be flexible to adapt to patient and service need. Fully remote positions may be considered for the right candidate, however there are certain expectations that employees would attend specific activity in person, please get in contact to discuss.

WE OFFER - the opportunity to make a difference to the wellbeing of a diverse population and to work amidst supportive and friendly colleagues and dependable managerial and clinical leaders. Our Staff Survey Results were of the best in our directorate. Regular managerial support independently of clinical supervision, CPD opportunities, a generous relocation scheme of up to £7700 and a secure pension plan are complemented by a range of additional benefits available under the NHS employment benefits scheme.

Many in our team have joined us from other parts of the country, not least because of the countless advantages life in Somerset can offer. Not far from bustling metropolitan areas such as Bath, Bristol, and Exeter or the beautiful seaside, the county is rich in stunning and tranquil locations. Many appreciate that the cost of living and housing is considerably lower here than in the city. Colleges and a number of excellent schools ensure good educational opportunities.
