We are seeking a confident, motivated and enthusiastic person, who has experience of offering psychological, recovery-focused and trauma-informed care with young people and families.
This is an exciting opportunity for either an experienced 8a Clinical Psychologist or for a newly or recently qualified Band 7 Clinical Psychologist looking for a post with the potential for career progression to join our supportive multidisciplinary team under a Preceptorship development arrangement. Based on relevant experience, this post can be offered at a Band 8a or as a Band 7 to 8a Preceptorship arrangement.
Wessex House is a generic adolescent inpatient unit for young people from the age of 13 years, up until 18 years of age. Wessex House has developed effective working practices with a rich and diverse therapeutic structure.
In the most recent CQC inspection in July 2022 Wessex House was rated "Good."
The ward is also part of the annual QNIC peer review cycle, having achieved QNIC accreditation.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will support the provision of psychological assessment and intervention as part of a multidisciplinary team approach to supporting the complex needs of young people within the inpatient CAMHS service.
Knowledge and experience of a range of models of assessment, formulation and treatment is essential for this post. In addition, offering supervision and support within the multidisciplinary team and across clinical networks will be an important part of this role.
You will have skills and experience of working in mental health and skills in offering evidence-based approaches that you will be able to share through direct clinical work with young people and families and also through supervision, consultation and training.
Experience within a CAMHS service or other relevant provision, including working with children, young people and their families, presenting with a range of complex mental health difficulties is desirable.
As the successful post holder, you will be able to work collaboratively and effectively in a multi-disciplinary context, to support the provision of psychological therapies within the inpatient CAMHS service.
The post holder will be encouraged to access suitable supportive networks, in addition to regular clinical and management supervision. This will include attendance of Tier-4 CAMHS Psychologist peer reflective practice groups and the Trust-wide Psychology and Child Psychology networks and CPD events.
