Job summary
This role offers a Recruitment and Retention Premium of £3,500 in addition to the annual salary.
To be part of a team providing front line delivery of maintenance, defect & Breakdown response and pre-Planned maintenance tasks to contribute to the delivery of effective, efficient and economical day-to-day maintenance, new and alteration works to ensure the safety of patients, staff and members of the public.
Main duties of the job
- To complete new and alteration works to comply with BS9999 or HTM05 (Firecode)
- Undertaking maintenance, repairs, minor improvement and capital work across the Trust as directed by management, ensuring compliance with Trust safety standards and procedures. An element of multi-skilling across Estates trades will be required.
- To work in accordance with the statutory requirements of Health Technical Memorandums (HTM's) on Fire Safety Systems (Passive & Active) Main systems:
- Fire Door Inspections (passive fire protection)
- Fire Damper Inspections (passive fire protection)
- Emergency Light Testing/Annual testing (active fire safety system)
- Fire compartmentation Inspections (passive fire protection)
- Fire Alarm Testing (active fire safety system)
- Fire Alarm Cause & Effect/Zoning testing (active fire safety system)
- Fire Door Remedial Works (passive fire protection)
- Minor fire compartmentation remedial works (passive fire protection)
- Installation of Fire Damper Access Hatches (passive fire protection)
- Supporting specialist contractors with permit to works and access to specialist active Fire Safety Systems:
- Extinguishing/Supression/Flood systems/Sprinkler Systems
- Fire Shutters
- Smoke Control (SHEV) Systems
- Fire Hydrants
- Fire Fighting Equipment fixtures
- Installing/maintaining escape signage
