Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our orthopaedic CNP team initially as a band 6 development post progressing into a band 7 role after completion of required competencies.

The team you would be joining provide crucial, specialised care and management to patients in all areas of orthopaedics including trauma coordinator, orthogeriatric and arthroplasty work. This team and areas covered has grown over the years and continues to develop, providing high quality care.

Main duties of the job

The post holder undertakes a key co-ordination role within the specialty, to ensure cohesion within the multidisciplinary team and efficient patient management working with and between ward nursing staff and members of the medical team

Delivers planned clinical work within the specialty and provides assessment of both elective and trauma patients, provides the coordination of trauma activity as well as offering cross cover in other specialty teams within orthopaedics.

Recruit to orthopaedic research trials and provide data entry for the national hip fracture database and other data entry as required by the service

  • Teaching or mentorship qualification
  • Independent and supplementary prescribing or willing to work towards

  • Up to date knowledge of current evidence based practice in relevant area/ discipline
  • Extensive knowledge of Orthopaedic disorders and their treatments.
  • Knowledge and understanding of professional, political and patient issues

Desirable

  • Good understanding of research methods
