Job summary

As an independent prescriber, your responsibilities will include prescribing medications, even for 'off-label' and controlled drugs. You'll collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team to enhance the assessment and treatment of service users referred to our service while actively contributing to the evolution of the nursing role within our organisation.
Your passion for reducing over-medication in individuals with learning disabilities, autism, or both will align perfectly with our commitment to the national STOMP (Stopping Over-Medication of People with a Learning Disability, Autism, or Both with Psychotropic Medication) project.

Main duties of the job
You will collaboratively assess the needs of service users, maintain records associated with this process, provide further follow-up to monitor response to treatment, develop and contribute to non-pharmacological treatment offered within the service, and communicate with service users, families, referrers and other agencies as appropriate.
