Job summary

Join our team as an independent prescriber and be at the forefront of making a meaningful impact on the lives of individuals with learning disabilities, autism, or both. In this vital role, you'll play a key part in transforming the way we approach medication management and mental health treatment.

As an independent prescriber, your responsibilities will include prescribing medications, even for 'off-label' and controlled drugs. You'll collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team to enhance the assessment and treatment of service users referred to our service while actively contributing to the evolution of the nursing role within our organisation.

Your passion for reducing over-medication in individuals with learning disabilities, autism, or both will align perfectly with our commitment to the national STOMP (Stopping Over-Medication of People with a Learning Disability, Autism, or Both with Psychotropic Medication) project.

If you're passionate about promoting the well-being and quality of life of individuals with learning disabilities, autism, or both and want to be part of a transformative healthcare team, we invite you to apply for this rewarding independent prescriber role today. Join us in making a real difference in the lives of those we serve.

Main duties of the job

You will collaboratively assess the needs of service users, maintain records associated with this process, provide further follow-up to monitor response to treatment, develop and contribute to non-pharmacological treatment offered within the service, and communicate with service users, families, referrers and other agencies as appropriate.

You will get to enjoy these perks whilst still only being a stone's throw away from bustling city centres like Bristol, Bath and Exeter and only two hours away from London.
