Job summary
An excellent opportunity has arisen to work as part of our Admissions team with Endoscopy. You will be responsible for the co-ordination, organisation and management of an the Endoscopy waiting list.
You will be required to help maximise capacity and ensure excellent patient care within an exceptionally busy and highly pressurised work environment.
You will need to be meticulously organised, motivated and have the ability to approach daily work in an ever changing and sometimes challenging yet exciting environment.
Main duties of the job
To co-ordinate patients into the appropriate theatre or endoscopy list by:
- taking into consideration a suitable surgeon, endoscopist, anaesthetist and equipment is available plus ensuring 'special requests' are made
- informing patients of all essential booking information to enable the patient to attend prepared for their admission
- meeting the patients social needs and availability
Scheduling patients involves working with the wider team to balance adherence to national and local wait time standards, clinical priority and service requirements.
To attend team meetings and communicate effectively daily with all grades of staff to build strong working relationships.
To proactively and efficiently ask and answer patient and staff questions and queries in a timely and professional manner.
