Job summary

Are you a Registered Nurse seeking an exciting new opportunity?

Join our team at Frome Community Hospital's Marshfield Ward!

Located amidst the picturesque Somerset countryside, Frome offers a serene backdrop for your nursing career. We're looking for dedicated nurses to join our dynamic team, whether you're a seasoned professional or a newly qualified nurse.

Positions Available:

  • 1 x Fixed Term Contract
  • 1 x Permanent Position

You'll be collaborating with a diverse multi-disciplinary team who all support each other to provide excellent care to our patients. Our ward has wonderful facilities, where patients have single or double rooms complete with en-suite facilities.

Main duties of the job

Successful candidates will assume full responsibility for the entirety of patient care, spanning from admission to discharge and utilising a computerised record-keeping system.

The role offers the chance to participate in family meetings, partake in ward rounds, and engage in interdisciplinary team gatherings. These activities collectively contribute to the decision-making process, goal establishment, and care planning necessary for ensuring a secure return home for patients from the hospital. You will deliver comprehensive nursing care to your patients, always upholding their dignity and showing respect. Furthermore, you'll have the opportunity to foster a safe environment within the unit and, when needed, act as a shift coordinator.

Applicants should possess Registered Nurse status, with exceptional communication skills spanning all levels, a commitment to high clinical standards, and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team.

The role entails flexible working hours on an internal shift rotation, encompassing both daytime and nighttime shifts over a seven-day workweek, including bank holidays. In return for this flexibility, employees will receive enhanced compensation for unsocial hours worked, along with a generous holiday allowance and access to a pension scheme.

Prospective nurses in preceptorship are also strongly encouraged to apply, as the Trust offers a comprehensive preceptorship program.

About us

As an organisation, the NHS offers a wide range of benefits including flexible working, pension contributions, market leading annual leave allowance, career progression and regular conversations, not to mention our Blue Light Card and NHS exclusive discounts.

The benefits of working in Somerset include the idyllic countryside, with our areas of outstanding beauty and stunning coastlines. You will get to enjoy these perks whilst still only being a stone's throw away from bustling city centres like Bristol, Bath and Exeter and only two hours away from London.

There are excellent educational facilities in the area and, when compared to other regions, house prices are reasonable. You will experience the best of both in Somerset, the countryside and the cosmopolitan - there is truly something for everyone!
